if the skies opened
and beckoned for us
to come,
would you take that step
with me?
would you be by my side?
the future used to be in technicolor,
polaroids of the passionate and hopeful.
the future used to be in black and white,
inspiring dreamers to reach towards the stars.
at the edge of the lake
we stood transfixed
by the dark blue ripples;
dreaming of all the magic
we couldn’t see.
what is the distance of life,
and how much time does it take
to travel through?
This new work by 'We are Dead Paper' reminds us of ARCHIGRAM. ARCHIGRAM dominated the architectural avant garde scene in the 1960s and early 1970s with its playful, pop-inspired visions of a technocratic future after its formation in 1961 by a group of young London architects – Warren Chalk, Peter Cook, Dennis Crompton, David Greene, Ron Herron and Michael Webb. Dead Paper is a collaboration between two artists who live a few hundred miles apart. All collages are handmade; they don't use any computer manipulation. Slighly uncanny but highly interesting. All poems are original works.
