Modern Architecture in Belgium. A most remarkable new work by the Belgian architectural firm; Office for Word and Image. A small but exceptional house was created on a tiny urban lot that previously housed a single floor level garage. This very unique contemporary modern house is a carefully thought out composition that utilizes the effect of light and shadow. The result is an almost cubist composition that displays an unexpected openness and offers surprising perspectives from every angle. Right behind the garage, the architect created the kitchen block: ceiling-high fitted cupboards and a cooking isle with Corian top in Glacier White. The entire structure was finished in white to preserve the integrity of the seamless appearance. The black Verner Panton Chairs add a touch of contrast in the otherwise spartan interior. The living room is further enhanced with a beautiful yellow Hella Jongerius Polder Sofa available from Stardust.com and a couple Hella Jongerius Bovist Stools.
