Palácio da Alvorada in Brasília by Oscar Niemeyer, a no-expense-spared over the top luxurious modernist building. This presidential palace is one of the most famous icons of modern architecture in Brasilia, Distrito Federal, Brazil. The Palácio da Alvorada is designated as the official residence of the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil. This iconic example of Brazilian mid century modern architecture is situated on the shores of Lake Paranoa. It was the first building to be completed in Brasilia on June 30, 1958.

The Palácio da Alvorada, is a large building with a square footage a total interior space of 78,576 square feet. This modernist gem features six suites, a movie- and music theater, gym, a heated Olympic-sized swimming pool, sauna with massage room and a cellar for at least 2,000.00 bottles. The Palácio da Alvorada has 60 full-time servers - not including the security team.  The outdoor reflecting pool features modernist bronze sculptures by the Brazilian sculptor Alfredo Ceschiatti.  And you thought the White House was over-the-top!
