There is no denying that life can be art. This was especially the case during the booming fifties when car design was not considering to be a laughing matter. It was a time when oil & gas companies were still creating wonderful modernist architectural gas stations. Take this Mobil Gas Station in Anaheim California for example. It was designed by Smith & Williams Architects for Mobil Gas in 1956. Photographed by Julius Shulman.
