Vico Magistretti Atollo Gold Model 233 Table Lamp
O-Luce, Italy
Vico Magistretti designed the Atollo table lamp for O-Luce in 1977. The Atollo lamp is an enduring modern design classic. Vico Magistretti named this lamp "Atollo" which translates into "Island" from Italian. The base comprises a cylinder on which a cone is mounted, the diffuser is a half-circular cap. Thanks to Vico Magistretti's know-how these three geometric elements become a modern classic while reasoning on abstract compositional components.
This new edition in gold features a gold plated external diffuser and base. The internal diffuser is finished in white and reflects light back onto the base, providing an interplay of light and shadow that makes this fantastic modern lamp even more distinctive. Vico Magistretti's Atollo lamp illuminates with direct downwards lighting and utilizes two 100W light bulbs. It has a dimmer switch.
The Atollo lamp is featured in a number of museum collections.
The Atollo lamp received the the Compasso D'oro Design Price.
