Peter Ghyczy: Space Age Modern Egg Chair
Modern furniture from the 1960's. This futuristic looking space age chair was designed by Peter Ghyczy in 1968. The Peter Ghyczy Space Age Modern Egg Chair is an ideal indoor and outdoor chair. Peter Ghyczy is a modern furniture designer. He was born in 1940 in Budapest. After the 1956 revolution, Ghyczy fled to West Germany, where he studied architecture at the University of Aachen. He worked for Reuter in Lemförde where he headed the design section of modern furniture.
He most famously designed the Garden Egg chair in 1968 that became a classic of industrial design and modern furniture as it explored the use of plastic in modern furniture. Ghyczy founded his own company in 1972.
